In consultation with the Biomedical Sciences/Developmental and Stem Cell Biology (BMS/DSCB) graduate program Program Manager, the BMS/DSCB Program Assistant uses professional concepts to coordinate, track and report student progress and assist with event coordination and logistics.
The BMS/DSCB Program Assistant applies professional Student Services concepts, provides varied student services to students, faculty, and department / school / college management. Works on moderately complex issues. Receives assistance on more complex issues. The BMS/DSCB Program Assistant involves a range of student services duties and responsibilities for an academic department. Provides assistance to the program manager, faculty directors, faculty, and students in recruitment, admissions, student orientation and events, and related programs. The position must be able to work independently and will report to the BMS/DSCB Program Manager. BMS and DSCB are PhD training programs with approximately 160 students in BMS and 50 students in DSCB. The incumbent will assist the Program Manager with day-to-day operations including support to admissions & recruitment, courses, curricular events such as journal club and seminars, student progress and milestone tracking, , event planning, reimbursements and program listservs, contact lists and websites. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $29.05 - $53.50 (Hourly Rate).
