Clinical Screener III Integrated Assessment Program
La Rabida Childrens Hospital is hiring a full-time Clinical Screener for the Behavioral Health unit in Chicago, IL.

SUMMARY :
Serves as Integrated Assessment Clinical Screener III. Utilizes assessment instruments designed for this program to establish measures of child/client functioning and to determine types of community and social supports required; administers clinical interviews for the IA program to clients (children), birth parents and other adults in the childs life; creates IA template reports and provides other services necessary to assess the child and implement a care plan. Provides clinical supervision to IA Clinical staff pertaining to their clinical work activities in the IA Program and monitors and facilitates collaborative communication with outside agencies. Supervises Clinical Screener IA reports, the conduct of the IA interviews and administration of IA assessment protocol.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Writes the IA template report on all cases summarizing all historical information, integrating all interview data, medical data including health works, juvenile court information, DCFS investigative information, data from other child welfare agencies, and other data and information. Upon completion presents the written report to the IA Program Director for review and supervision. Meets with Director once per week in person utilizing the expectations of the program model of supervision.
Meets with Permanency Worker/Supervisor to discuss findings, the development of the service plan and to prepare for the family meeting. Makes expected attempts to staff the IA report in person. Makes weekly attempts to attend the family meeting for 30 days after the staffing.
Completes and submits CANS as outlined in the IA policies as well as completes and submits each closed case file to the Clinical Lead to ensure completion within 30 days of SACWIS entry. Ensures each cases closed file includes all vital information. Submits closed file to IA Administrative Assistant on time.
Provides guidance and clinical oversight to the interpretation and integration of the IA assessment results and writing of the IA Report. Provides the principal clinical supervision to at least 3 IA Screeners. Meets weekly with each Clinical Screener for clinical supervision. Documents the content of each supervision for the purpose of monitoring and screener growth and development.
Reviews all IA reports to assure all service and intervention recommendations are consistent with the identified needs of the client, family, and caregiver as well as to assure quality and accuracy of the IA report. Assures that IA reports meet all DCFS and statutory requirements.
Facilitates collaborative communication with outside agencies if such intervention is required to increase the efficiency and timeliness of the assessments. Establishes working relationships with POS agency Case Managers, Supervisors and other POS personnel to ensure timely and high quality services are delivered.
Engages in ongoing review of needed changes in the IA template report to reflect the assessment findings and service needs of the client, family members, caregiver and articulate recommendations for change. Ensures the IA Screeners utilize Best Practice Principles when engaging, interviewing and conducting clinical assessments of the client, family members, and the caregiver. Ensures the IA Screeners utilize other clinical specialists to assist them in their understanding of the service and intervention needs of clients, family members and caregivers.
Ensures that Clinical Screeners meet all DCFS mandated timeframes for completion of drafts and final IA reports. Ensures that no more than 25% of reports are partial or case note reports per screener. Ensures that all needed data is included in each IA report for reporting outcomes to DCFS.
Reviews each screeners early childhood referrals prior to submission to DCFS for accuracy. Reviews each screeners closed case file and CANS to ensure completion within 30 days of SACWIS entry. Reviews each cases closed files to ensure accuracy of citing in all IA reports, as well as inclusion of vital information.
Administrative and Case Management Responsibilities: (10%)
What we need from you:
Education: Ph.D./Psy.D., LCSW or LCPC. Psychologists and social workers must be licensed in Illinois. Psychologist must have completed an APA accredited internship in clinical child or pediatric psychology.
Related Work Experience Three years of post-graduate experience with the population of children served by this program as well as supervisor/managerial experience.
To qualify for the Clinical Screener III position, must have 2 or more years of experience completing IA assessments, 2 or more years of experience conducting early childhood developmental assessments.
Licensure/Certification: Illinois Licensure and valid Drivers License
This is a grant funded position and not eligible hospital issued increases. Should the grant funding be diminished or ended this position will be terminated.
