Job Description

Position Summary

MyAdvice is seeking a creative, organized, and self-motivated writer and editor to join our content team. This dual role is responsible for creating and editing engaging website content that generates traffic, increases customer engagement, and educates readers on a particular procedure or service. A significant portion of this role will involve utilizing AI to generate first drafts of blog and page content. This position is also responsible for editing AI outputs to ensure clarity, coherence, and alignment with our established standards and workflows.  

Ideal candidates are highly skilled in both writing and editing, able to adapt to different styles, possess strong research skills, and have a good understanding of SEO. Experience in editing for clarity, grammar, and style is crucial. Additionally, since we work with clients across various specialties, including aesthetics, medical, and legal, familiarity with these fields is a bonus.

Individuals who will excel in this position have experience working for a digital marketing agency, have written and edited web content for providers of professional services, and are adaptable with a growth mindset. Our content processes evolve as our company grows, so good teamwork and strong communication skills are essential. Similarly, we expect our writers to embrace generative AI as a tool that can help efficiently create high-quality content.

Essential Duties
  • Write and edit original content for client webpages and additional content as needed
  • Perform online research, ensuring the information is factual, accurate, and up-to-date
  • Leverage AI tools to generate a first rough draft then refine and edit to completion
  • Edit and proofread content to guarantee it is clear, well-organized, and error-free
  • Ensure all content adheres to SEO principles and company standards
  • Submit content through our proprietary content delivery platform
  • Make requested revisions and edits as necessary
  • Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Respond positively to constructive criticism and implement changes accordingly
  • Collaborate with Customer Success Managers and other teams on content strategy
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • Mastery of the English language including proper usage of spelling and grammar
  • Exceptional professional writing and editing skill skills
  • Proven ability to proofread and edit your own and others’ work
  • Strong research and organizational skills
  • Competency with word processors such as Microsoft Word and Google Docs
Preferred Skills
  • General understanding of SEO principles and strategies
  • General understanding of consumers and what motivates them online
  • Experience writing and editing content related to cosmetic dentistry, plastic surgery, medical, or legal
  • Familiarity with AI tools for content creation and enhancement
  • Experience managing clients with CRMs
  • Experience with a CMS (WordPress and/or Drupal preferred)
Qualifications 
  • 1-3 years of professional writing and editing experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism or related field preferred
  • Submit at least 3-5 writing samples for your application to be considered
  • High speed internet connection and dedicated workspace if electing to work remote
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States 
Position Details
  • Compensation: $50,000 USD
  • Incentive Pay: Eligible for annual performance bonus 
  • Position Type: Fulltime, Salaried, Exempt 
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday (no nights or weekends) with typical office hours based on your time zone.
    • For example: 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm plus 0-60 minutes for a lunch break per employee preference and manager’s approval
  • Work Locations: This position can be remote, hybrid or in-office depending on candidate preference and location. MyAdvice has offices in Melville, New York and Lehi, Utah.
  • Travel: May require occasional local or national travel (less than 5% of the time, if at all).
  • Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer (90% at desk, 10% of time walking); Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and use typical office equipment (computers, keyboards, printer, etc.).
