Position Summary:

Driver -Non-CDL

James Air Cargo, Inc, Driver is responsible for making deliveries and pickups within our service area of Northeast Ohio. These range from corporations and residential deliveries and pickups. Our drivers must be willing to load/unload the freight. You will interact with our customers while making these deliveries and pickups. All our drivers are home every night.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Comfortable operating a 26-foot box truck.
• Provide excellent customer service and on-time deliveries while working as part of a team to ensure that our customer’s freight is handled properly.
• Willing to operate carts, forklifts, and pallet jacks to assist customers in loading or unloading freight.
• Follow DOT/ and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) procedures.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Professionalism is a must.
• General knowledge of basic math skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Must be fluent in, reading, writing, speak English.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule.
• Communicate effectively with internal company employees and clients while maintaining standards of professionalism and courtesy.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job – sitting, standing, driving, and lifting up to 14 hours a day.
• Regularly and repeatedly lift and/or move up to 50lbs, frequently lift and or/move up to 75lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100lbs.
• Exhibits the ability to read and interpret orders.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to pass a company background check (past 10 years) and DOT drug screen.

Work Conditions:

• Must be willing to work inside and outside in various locations and weather conditions.
• All our box trucks have lift gates to assist in loading and unloading.
• Repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, and moving items.
• Appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday.
• Overtime is possible.
• Shift: Varies.

James Air Cargo has been owned and operated by Tom Goff for more than thirty years. The company began in a basement in Medina, OH with one van and one straight truck. From there the company grew by working with airlines. With no advertising, James Air Cargo was added to an airline brochure for delivery agents in Cleveland, and combined with word of mouth grew the business into what it is today.
