As a Preschool Assistant, you'll have the flexibility to work in various classrooms, ensuring a vibrant and nurturing environment for our little learners.
Under the guidance of the Lead Teacher (ECLT), you'll help plan and implement engaging classroom activities that promote exploration, problem-solving, cooperation, and socialization. Your role is crucial in maintaining a safe, healthy, and stimulating atmosphere, providing constant supervision during all activities, including outdoor play, mealtime, and nap time. You'll respond to each child's individual needs with care and positivity, fostering their growth and development.
You'll collaborate with the ECLT to prepare the classroom and materials for developmentally appropriate curriculum plans. Your input will help assess and address the specific interests, strengths, and needs of both individual children and the group as a whole. In this role, you'll also be vigilant about child safety, reporting any concerns, and participating in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements: - Education: Minimum age of 16 years. High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or HiSET preferred.
- Certifications:Must complete American Heart Association Heart Saver CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment and maintain certification thereafter. Must be current on the Montana Early Childhood Project Practitioner Registry within 15 days of hire. Additional training requirements include Infant Safety Essentials within 30 days and Health and Safety Required Professional Development within 90 days of hire. Annual mandatory 16-hour training and all required immunizations must be up to date.
- Experience: Practical knowledge of early childhood growth and development. Ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs. Experience in decision-making, problem-solving, and maintaining a safe environment. Capable of working as a team member and communicating effectively with staff, families, and children.
- Skills: Strong multitasking and stress management skills. Genuine enjoyment of working with young children, maintaining calm and reassurance in all situations. Good judgment and critical thinking abilities to ensure children's safety and well-being.
