Environmental Health & Safety Manager

Glanbia – Springfield, Missouri

The Opportunity  

Are you passionate about ensuring safety, environmental sustainability, and compliance? We are looking for an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee and manage health, safety, environmental, sustainability, and security policies at our manufacturing facility in Springfield, MO with oversite of our Carlsbad, CA site as well.  This permanent position will report to the Sr. EHS Manager and the duties and skills include but are not limited to the following; 

• Ensure compliance with environmental laws, standards, and regulations, including site permits.
• Coordinate and manage Federal, State, and Local agency inspections.
• Collaborate with plant leaders on wastewater, stormwater, air emission permits, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and guide direct reports, site leadership, and frontline managers.
• Achieve sustainability objectives like True Zero Waste certification and reducing carbon emissions.
• Oversee safety training, risk assessment, and reporting.
• Maintain OSHA logs, incident records, and EHS compliance using Intelex.
• Facilitate incident investigations and root cause analysis.

The Skills you will bring to the team

• Experience in general manufacturing, preferably in food and beverage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years in safety, occupational health, or environmental engineering in a manufacturing setting.
• CSP and CHMM certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Proficiency with Intelex.
• Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to handle complex documents and respond to sensitive inquiries.
• Proficient in personal computer skills, including email, record keeping, databases, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
• Ability to travel for audits and inpections of the Carlsbad, CA site at least 5 times per year.
