Job Description

Day-to-Day:

An engineering services company is looking for skilled Fiber Optic Technicians to support ongoing contract work in the Florida panhandle. The Fiber Optic Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic systems aboard ships and vessels. This role ensures that all fiber optic networks are functioning optimally to support communication and data transmission needs. Compensation: $50,000 to $60,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Duties will include:

• Installing fiber optic cables, connectors, and related equipment
• Manually building and polishing connectors
• Conducting regular inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems
• Reading and interpreting shipboard installation drawings

Must Haves:

• Proven commercial experience with fiber optic installations
• with ships or vessels
• Skillful at building copper and fiber terminations by hand
• Rack to rack electric/fiber optic cabling experience

Plusses:

• KITCO fiber optic certification
• NAPCO training/certification
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Military/Service background
