Golf Course Superintendent
Golf Course in Marana, Arizona is looking for a Golf Course Superintendent.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of agronomy, this position assists with the operation of the golf course and maintenance activities including, but not limited to: turf grass/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, personnel management, budget/forecasting, financial management, member relations, scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications, related record keeping and compliance of regulatory issues. The position works to create an environment where staff are involved and enthusiastic, with open communications and respect for themselves, members, guests and the property.
Duties:
• Supervises and manages the daily operation of the golf course maintenance team and follows up on daily tasks with the crew.
• Manages department members that include: Equipment Manager, Assistant Superintendent, Irrigation Technicians, Spray Technicians, Foreman, Equipment Operators, and Greenskeepers.
• Ensures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs
• Oversees the irrigation system, monitoring of moisture levels, repairs and auditing.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Supervises, develops and implements agronomic and cultivation processes involved in growing various turf grasses in the desert southwest.
• Assists in the procurement of supplies and materials.
• Keeps records of annual maintenance activities and costs and assists with the preparation of required reports.
• Reconciles and provides timely coding of all invoices, payroll and other required documents.
• Ensures all company policies and procedures are followed including compliance with government regulations.
Requirements:
Degree or Certificate in Agronomy or related field.
2-3 years of experience as a Superintendent or 4-5 years as an Assistant Superintendent.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, & Outlook.
Arizona Pesticide Applicators License or obtain within 90 days of employment.
Compensation:
$75,000 – $85,000 per year.
