The Cultural and Historic Preservation Manager supervises the repair and maintenance of all historically designated facilities at Bryce Canyon and other Aramark Destinations accounts. This position also directs trade workers, assigns daily tasks, and trains the work crew in safe and compliant work practices. The person in this position must be an expert in all areas of historic preservation, restoration, maintenance and provide training on different phases of maintenance and construction.

• Must have at minimum a high school diploma or G.E.D.
• Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, architectural history, and/or historic preservation, one-year experience assessing historic buildings, or equivalent combination of education (related trade school), historic certification(s) and experience working on historic preservation projects.
• National Park Service HPTC desired but not required. Ability to obtain proper historic preservation certifications.
• Adept in assessing existing historic structures, components, and details to support project initiatives for preservation.
• Excellent carpentry and wood working skills.
• Extensive knowledge of construction materials, species of wood, caulks, sealants, glass, fastening materials
• Extensive knowledge of carpentry & woodworking hand and power tools, equipment, and associated uses.
• Extensive knowledge of painting, staining, waterproofing means and methods for various materials for restoration of various building components.
• Experience working with the National Park Service, SHPO, and familiarity with NPS/SHPO policies, processes, and documentation preferred.
• Understanding of the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and familiarity with the Section 106 review process.
• Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications.
• Experience working with contractors on historic properties listed in the National Register.
• 3-5 years as journeyman. 3-5 years management/supervisory experience
• Must have working knowledge of all construction means & methods for: (MEP systems, Framing, Drywall, Painting, Finish Carpentry, etc)
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Working knowledge of codes and specifications.
• Computer skills to include Microsoft, Windows, Excel, & Word.
• Understand basic budget relationships (i.e. labor expense, cost breakdowns, purchasing).
• Recordkeeping skills (reading, writing and accurate reporting) to prepare and maintain records, reports, purchase orders and work orders.
• Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
