Landscape Maintenance – Temp to Hire

Pay: $18–$19 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and experienced landscape maintenance worker. This role involves maintaining outdoor areas through mowing, trimming, planting, and general upkeep, with the potential to transition to a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities

Landscape Maintenance

• Perform regular grounds maintenance including mowing, edging, weeding, blowing, and raking
• Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and groundcover according to landscape plans
• Prune and trim trees, hedges, and shrubs for healthy growth and appearance
• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely as directed
• Mulch garden beds and tree rings to retain moisture and reduce weeds
• Monitor plant health and address issues related to pests or diseases
• Clean and maintain garden beds, walkways, and landscape features
• Remove leaves, trash, and debris from grounds

Equipment Operation and Maintenance

• Operate landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and hand tools
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and report malfunctions
• Ensure tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained

Client Interaction (if applicable)

• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
• Address concerns and provide updates as needed

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2–3 years of landscaping or groundskeeping experience
• Experience with irrigation systems is highly preferred
• Horticultural training or certifications are a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
• Able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Good manual dexterity for using landscaping tools and equipment
