The Department of Mathematics at UW-Madison is seeking a Learning Center Coordinator to join our Math Learning Center team. One of the largest on campus, Mathematics is home to over 400 workers including faculty, academic staff, university staff, pre- and postdoctoral trainees; as well as graduate and undergraduate student employees. This position offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment including a broad range of challenging and varied responsibilities.
This new position is expected to function as a first point of contact for students and student workers in the Math Learning Center (MLC). In this capacity, the incumbent will interact with tutors and students seeking tutor assistance daily, providing assistance and resolving problems as they arise. Under the delegated authority of the Director of the Math Learning Center, the person in this role will conduct independent work and provide data-driven recommendations for enhancing critical administrative operations in the Math Learning Center. This detail-oriented position requires excellent administrative, organizational, communication (verbal, written, and electronic), and leadership skills as well as computer proficiency. It requires considerable professionalism, confidentiality, independent initiative, sound judgement, analytic ability, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage competing priorities as well as the ability to work independently in dealing with a diverse workload with frequent interruptions and varied responsibilities.Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. Minimum $25.00 HOURLY

The typical starting salary for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 depending on qualifications and experience. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays and paid time off; competitive insurances and saving accounts; and retirement benefits.
