Job Description

Medix is looking to hire a Behavioral Health Social Worker (ACSW/ AMFT) to join a Mental Health Center in Los Angeles, CA 90015. The program offers a structured residential program with intensive mental health supportive services to prepare and empower clients to develop independent skills and improve current levels of functioning in order to successfully reintegrate back into community living.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct mental status examinations utilizing the current diagnostic practices in a state licensed residential facility for up to 60 adult males with mental disabilities, ages 18-59.
• Provide clinical treatment of both acute and chronic mentally ill populations.
• Accurately assess statements and behaviors of clients for evidence of antisocial behavior.
• Assesses client’s risk of violence using risk assessment measures and incorporates these findings into decision-making and treatment/supervision plans.
• Monitor patient care, provide case management services, mental health services including classes in independent living skills and socialization, individual and group therapy sessions, assistance with vocational and education plans, and medication support services.
• Develops rapport with clients and fosters an environment supportive of treatment gains.
• Completes and submits all required paperwork and updates logs in accordance with program guidelines.
• Function as primary therapist and member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Requirements / Experience

• Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences or related area from an accredited university
• Valid CA BBS registration or proof of pending application
• Bilingual in Spanish (required)

Schedule:

• Monday- Friday 8:00- 5:00 pm

Performance incentive: up to $1,250/ month
