Job Title: Mortgage Loan Closer

Location: (Hybrid) Columbus, OH; Cincinatti, OH; Indianapolis, IN

Contract to Hire: 6 Month Contract to Hire

Pay Rate: $24-26/hr

Position Summary:

Calculated Hire is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Closer with a proven track record of managing high-volume closings efficiently and accurately for a Fortune 500 financial company. The ideal candidate will bring 5 years of experience in mortgage closing, expertise with Encompass Loan Origination Software, and the ability to handle 20-40 loan files per month. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who excels in managing deadlines and ensuring compliance in all aspects of the closing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify loan closing documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare Closing Disclosures (CDs) and all required loan documents in Encompass.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, title companies, escrow agents, and borrowers to facilitate smooth and timely loan closings.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal lending regulations, including TRID guidelines.
  • Perform final quality checks to identify and resolve any discrepancies prior to loan funding.
  • Manage a pipeline of 20-40 files per month, prioritizing workload to meet closing deadlines.
  • Collaborate closely with underwriters, processors, and loan officers to ensure seamless loan completion.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within Encompass and other loan management systems.
  • Provide exceptional service to borrowers, maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in mortgage closing or a related role.
  • Proficiency with Encompass Loan Origination Software is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to close 20-40 mortgage files per month.
  • Strong understanding of loan documents, Closing Disclosures, TRID, and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work efficiently under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with conventional, FHA, and VA loans.
  • Knowledge of other mortgage-related platforms and tools.
  • Proven success in a high-volume mortgage environment.
