Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Multimedia Journalist to join our team. This role involves creating engaging content across various media platforms including online articles, video reports, social media updates, and podcasts. The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller with a strong news sense, excellent writing abilities, and proficiency in multimedia production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, write, and produce compelling news stories for WIZM News and lifestyle content for Around River City
• Create and edit multimedia content, including video, audio, and graphics
• Conduct interviews, both in-studio and in the field, to gather information for stories
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality and timely publication of content
• Manage social media accounts by posting updates and engaging with the audience
• Attend local events to cover news and generate content for Around River City
• Stay updated on local news, trends, and events to keep content relevant and engaging

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience in multimedia journalism, preferably in a local news or lifestyle setting
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and strategies
• Knowledge of the La Crosse area and the region is a plus
• Educational background in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred

Work Environment:

• Primarily in-office with some flexibility to work remotely
• Standard working hours: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary range: $50,000 to $55,000 per year
