The Music Area of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Angelo State University seeks to fill the position of Music Accompanist. This is a full-time staff position.

1. Provide rehearsal and performance accompaniment for vocal and instrumental students on departmental recitals.
2. Provide rehearsal and performance accompaniment for vocal and instrumental students on required junior and senior recitals.
3. Provide rehearsal and performance accompaniment for choral ensembles in the department at the discretion of the Director of Choral Activities.
4. Provide rehearsal and performance accompaniment for vocal and instrumental students performing end of semester juries.
5. Provide performance accompaniment for vocal students in classes when needed.
6. Provide rehearsal and performance accompaniment for faculty, guest performers, and auditions when needed.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of standard repertoire for voice and instruments.
• Skilled in keyboard performance.
• Skilled in sight-reading.
• Skilled in good oral and written communication.
• Skilled in music of different styles.
• Ability to perform accompaniments at a strong level of proficiency and musicality.
• Ability to organize and maintain an active rehearsal and performance schedule.
• Ability to communicate and be collegial with students, staff, and faculty.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Ability to possess and maintain high academic and personal standards in and outside the rehearsal/performance environment.

Bachelors Degree in piano performance or collaborative piano required. Previous collaborative piano experience at the college/professional level is desired.
