Position: Network Infrastructure/Security Engineer

We are excited to welcome a talented Network Infrastructure/Security Engineer to our team! If you have a strong background in networking, experience with firewalls, and a knack for packet capture, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. We're looking for someone eager to learn and contribute to innovative integrations within one of the largest financial services organizations in the nation.

Work Environment:
This position begins as a fully remote role, allowing you to work comfortably from home for the next few months. However, candidates should be located in or willing to relocate to Phoenix, AZ, as the team will transition back to the office in the near future.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain a multi-tenant environment, both cloud-based and on-premises, while collaborating with our 24/7 NOC/SOC operations.
- Provide exceptional support to our managed customers, troubleshooting and resolving service-impacting issues promptly.
- Apply requested changes, document processes, and modify the existing environment as needed.
- Ensure adherence to network security best practices.

What We're Looking For:

Required Skills:
- A strong networking background with a solid understanding of network topology and schematics.
- Proficiency in network protocols such as TCP, UDP, ICMP, and technologies like SSH, and Telnet.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills for networking issues, including routing, access, and firewall configurations.
- Familiarity with tools such as nmap, tcpdump, and log analysis for packet/session analysis.
- Understanding of network ACLs and load balancers, along with other enterprise technologies (WAF, network IDS/IPS).
- Strong command of Linux CLI.
- Experience with tools used for threat detection based on packet analysis.

Preferred Skills:
- Skills in packet analysis (tcpdump, Wireshark, session analysis).
- Experience in threat detection with a focus on packet inspection.
- Knowledge of TLS/SSL decryption.
- Experience in cloud packet capture.
- Familiarity with RSA NetWitness packet capture or other full packet capture tools.

In this role, you will:
- Troubleshoot network connections within our environment.
- Deploy various systems for packet collection.
- Collaborate with SOC and threat detection teams to analyze traffic flows and create effective detection strategies.
