Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Operating System Analyst. The Systems Administration Unit in our new Disease Control Informatics Branch is seeking an Operating Systems Analyst to join the Integrated Reporting, Investigation, and Surveillance (IRIS) System Administration team. The IRIS System, a Clinisys WorldCare product, is the core data system user interface for disease surveillance and case management activities within the Department of Public Health. Under supervision, the analyst will act as part of the core technical team for the IRIS System to analyze requirements and business functions, design and implement system specifications and user defined forms, define processes for robotic process automations (RPA) bots, and participate in testing of the system during upgrades or changes. Incumbents apply a thorough knowledge of systems administration along with problem identification and resolution. Incumbents must possess good oral and written communication skills for working with cross-functional teams to design, configure, test, and maintain the IRIS System.
The position will start immediately upon acceptance and employment clearance and is initially funded through 6/30/25.
Pay Rate-$51.63/hr working 40 hours a week

Job Duties - Completes change control documentation and coordinates approvals according to departmental procedures.
- Work with business teams to design, create, and/or configure user defined forms and system workflows within the IRIS System.
- Work with business teams and engineers to define and document workflow processes within the IRIS System interface for RPA bots.
- Analyzes and documents IRIS Systems ability to meet user, functional, and technical requirements.
- Assists in developing and implementing training and test plans.
- Develops test scenarios and collaborates with system users to conduct user acceptance testing
- Assists in preparing technical systems documentation and user manuals.
- Monitors system compliance with established IT policies, procedures, guidelines, plans and standards.
- Performs analysis to help resolve application problems and assists users in trouble shooting application issues.
- May participate in the development of requests for information (RFIs), requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotes (RFQs), statements of works (SOWs), etc., and in the evaluation of proposals.
Desirable Qualifications: - Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field and two (2) years of recent, full-time, paid experience at the level of Application Developer II, one year of which must include configuring and maintaining complex systems, including configuring and implementing releases, upgrades, or changes to operating systems, servers, and related software

- Option 2: Two (2) years of recent, full-time, paid experience configuring and maintaining complex systems, including configuring, coordinating, and implementing releases, upgrades, or changes to operating systems, servers, and related software, one year of which must be in a midrange or mainframe environment with formal change management, problem resolution procedures, and back-up and recovery plans.
- A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Additional desirable qualifications: - Beginning to intermediate experience with JavaScript or ability to learn
- Beginning experience with GitHub or other version control software
- Experience with user-based design
- Experience with healthcare or public health systems
- Experience with RPA bots (e.g. Selenium)
