Job Title: Plant Manager

Reports To: VP of Operations
Basic Function:
As the Plant Manager, you will spearhead all aspects of plant performance, ensuring that objectives are met in a cost-effective manner while maintaining rigorous quality standards. You'll lead a team of supervisors in the Production area (appox 200 people), coordinating operations to manufacture our exceptional products while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all associates.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Provide dynamic leadership for the successful daily operation of the facility. Strive for excellence in performance, timeliness, and completion of operations.
Cost Management: Monitor operational expenses and identify strategies to reduce costs without compromising product quality. Aim to meet and exceed cost reduction goals.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to prepare for and navigate internal, third-party, and ISO audits, ensuring compliance with established standards.
Safety Oversight: Work closely with the Safety Manager to promote adherence to safety policies and practices, cultivating a secure workplace environment for all employees.
Budget Management: Develop and manage comprehensive plant manufacturing budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
Employee Development: Conduct performance appraisals, offer coaching, and provide guidance to operations team members to foster growth and development.
Staffing Coordination: Analyze workforce requirements to effectively coordinate the hiring and training of manufacturing personnel, aiming for optimal labor costs and turnover rates.
Production Optimization: Remove production constraints by strategically allocating resources, guiding production teams to meet established goals efficiently.
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement through initiatives such as IDEA Factory, Kaizen Events, and Focus Improvement Events, tracking progress and improvements.
Material Management: Support raw material optimization by collaborating with the Director of Materials to manage inventories and mitigate scrap rates.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Management, Operations, or a related field is required. A Master's degree and Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt) are preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 7 years in a key leadership or management role within a manufacturing environment, demonstrating progressive responsibility.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and build teams, with advanced coaching capabilities.
Continuous Improvement Expertise: Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5-S to drive operational enhancements.
Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety systems and the enforcement of safety rules and policies.
Manufacturing Acumen: Familiarity with manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering principles and applications.

Physical Demands:
The position requires the ability to sit, reach, talk, and hear regularly. Employees may frequently use hands to handle objects and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Vision capabilities must include close, distance, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception.
Work Environment:
