Pay: $24 - $26 per hour, based on experience

Our client is a well-established medical practice specializing in rheumatology, dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with inflammatory arthritis and other connective tissue disorders. They are seeking a Prior Authorization Specialist to support their growing team and assist with the prior authorization process for medications, imaging, and infusions.

Job Description:

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for an experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to join a busy rheumatology office. The role involves obtaining prior authorizations for medications, imaging, and infusion services through various portals and phone interactions. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting and be familiar with insurance processes and medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain prior authorization for medications, biologics, imaging, and infusions
• Communicate with patients to inform them of authorization statuses and financial responsibilities
• Collaborate with physicians to gather necessary clinical data for prior authorizations
• Follow up with insurance companies to resolve any pending authorization requests
• Maintain accurate records of authorization status and ensure timely follow-up
• Ensure compliance with insurance carrier requirements and company policies
• Work closely with the billing team to ensure proper coding and documentation

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in prior authorization within a medical office or hospital setting
• Strong understanding of medical terminology
• Previous experience with insurance portals and communication with insurance representatives
• Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, clinical staff, and patients
