The Public Health Empowerment Pro Bono Coach at CrowdDoing Pro Bono Coaching Collective is dedicated to guiding individuals and groups in initiatives that enhance public health awareness and outcomes. This role involves empowering clients with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to make impactful contributions to public health, whether in their communities, workplaces, or broader social circles. This is an unpaid, virtual volunteer role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate educational sessions to increase clients' understanding of public health issues, including disease prevention, health promotion, and wellness.
• Guide clients in developing and implementing public health projects or initiatives, tailored to their specific interests and community needs.
• Assist clients in setting realistic and impactful goals in the realm of public health advocacy or education.
• Provide tools and resources for effective health communication, program planning, and community engagement.
• Support clients in navigating challenges and barriers they may encounter in public health efforts.
• Help clients to establish and maintain partnerships with local health agencies, organizations, or community groups.
• Encourage clients to become proactive public health advocates within their spheres of influence.
• Offer a supportive and confidential environment for clients to explore and develop their public health interests and ideas.
• Stay updated on the latest public health trends, research, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Experience in public health, health education, nursing, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of public health principles and practices.
• Excellent communication, teaching, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate individuals and groups towards health-related initiatives.
• Commitment to supporting diverse clients in their public health empowerment journey.
• (Optional) Relevant certification or training in public health, health promotion, or related fields.

Role Description

This is a remote, volunteer position for a Public Health Empowerment Pro Bono Coach at CrowdDoing. As a Public Health Empowerment Pro Bono Coach, you will work in collaboration with a public health team in designing pro bono coaching models aimed at empowering refugees, immigrants, and the underserved to take ownership and manage their personal health. You will also work with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders in the health and wellness space.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of public health issues and challenges related to immigrants, refugees, and underserved populations.
• Experience creating and implementing public health pro bono coaching models, teaching skills, or training programs.
• Ability to collaborate and work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication, listening, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work competently with Microsoft Suite and Virtual Meeting Platforms.
• A creative problem-solver who can identify and overcome challenges while maintaining a positive attitude.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in public health, health education, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
