Job description:

Chain Effect is seeking a Registered Dietitian to add to our dietetics team. If you love dynamic conversations with your patients and are obsessed with having the most evidence-based strategies to help your patients accomplish their goals, this role is for you.

The perfect candidate will understand that nutrition education expertise is just one tool of an effective clinician:

High emotional intelligence and experience implementing strategies for behavioral change is a must. We’re looking for someone to be able to meet patients where they are through active listening, Motivational Interviewing, and building great rapport. Our dietitians understand that behavior and diet change come with their highs and lows, but we're there for our patients every step of the way. No monthly visits here! We expect frequent appointments and long-term relationships to strive to be patients' lifelong wellness provider.

We are looking for a holistic practitioner who counsels on not only food, but also educates patients on the interconnectedness of bodily systems and factors that affect our food choices and health such as stress, sleep, gut health, mindfulness, exercise, schedule, supplements/medications, hormones, and more. This individual must feel comfortable working remotely from home (as long as insurance coverage allows this) while communicating with other providers to create a team approach to best attain our clients' goals. Candidate is also welcome to use our office to conduct telehealth appointments or in person appointments if desired.

We'd love to see a cover letter with your resume.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Conduct assessments, develop care plans using the nutrition care process, monitor on-going medical conditions, and provide nutrition education and counseling to patients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and to identify education and nutritional needs of patients with nutrition-related medical conditions.
  • Assisting in self promotion/marketing efforts demonstrating areas of interest/niches, targeting specific client groups and creating educational content.
  • While insurance companies continue to pay for telehealth appointments the job will remain remote. However should virtual benefits end, candidate must then begin to see clients in our office.

Minimum Education/Experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences or comparable major from an accredited university and completion of an ACEND approved coordinated undergraduate program or dietetic internship
  • CDR registered and licensed as a registered dietitian in the state of North Carolina in order to see NC patients
  • At least 2 years (post dietetic internship) of outpatient experience providing MNT to patients in one on one or group settings is preferred
  • Outpatient counseling and billing experience is a plus
  • Experience facilitating 1-hour appointments is a plus
  • Weight management, functional nutrition, or sports nutrition training is a plus but not required

Requirements :

  • Experience providing Medical Nutrition Therapy for variety of health conditions and goals including weight loss/weight gain, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, PCOS, vitamin/mineral deficiencies, food allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, and sports nutrition.
  • Experience with Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
  • Ability to create and maintain compliant medical records and all supporting documentation as required through 3rd party payers using our existing EMR and billing software systems.
  • Previous experience with nutritional analysis software and electronic health records.
  • Work Location: Remote and/or Raleigh office.
