Job Summary Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks a Scrum Master to model the qualities of a servant leader and exhibit the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader with a Lean-Agile Mindset. Specific duties include: act as a servant leader for multiple teams and their stakeholders; aid the team and Product Owner in efforts to manage and sequence the backlog; lead more complex teams involving work with routine external team impact or dependencies including multiple system integration points; eliminate impediments and resolve issues and dependencies more independently with limited support from Release Train Engineer or other resources; assist in building a high-performing team and foster relentless improvement at the Team and Program level while improving team performance in areas of quality, predictability, flow and velocity; identify SAFe anti-patterns and resolve with limited support and apply SAFe principles to facilitation, enablement, and coaching for multiple teams; utilize tools to create metrics that measure and report on team performance, backlog health and continuous improvement; participate, facilitate and manage the outputs of all agile ceremonies including Daily Stand-Up meetings, Sprint review, sprint retrospective, sprint planning, backlog refinement sessions, prepare for Program Increment Planning Sessions; and participate in the Scrum Master Communities of Practice, Scrum Mastery Sync Sessions and Agile Release Train Sync Sessions. Option to work remotely is available.
Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field of study, plus 8 years of experience in the job offered, or similar position in IT. Must have 4 years of experience with each of the following: working with mainframe and Web technologies; working with Waterfall, Agile, Iterative, and onshore-offshore delivery models. Specific experience must also include working with each of the following: Personal Lines Business, Auto, Home and Umbrella Line of Business, including Renewals, Batch processing, Underwriting, Transaction completion, and Discounts; SAFe environment and participating in multiple PI planning; policy processing systems in P&C insurance essentially including Guidewire PolicyCentre and Conversion of legacy to Guidewire PolicyCenter; Java or GOSU programming; J2EE, Application Servers, XML/Web Services/ RDBMS, and ETL; Devops CI/CD, test automation, and API and performance testing frameworks; performing application development and testing for enterprise web applications, Implementation Conversion, Data migration and infrastructure projects; and SharePoint, Rally, and ALM.
