Job Description

Our client is looking for a Senior Property Underwriter to join their rapidly growing team. They are an MGA delivering innovative P&C insurance products. As an affiliate of a financially sound organization, they leverage technology to optimize distribution, underwriting, service, and claims handling. They recently launched an Excess Casualty Program and are seeking top talent to join in building this new product. This role offers ground-floor participation in building a book of business with the innovation and flexibility of a Wholesale Market, supported by the resources of an established carrier.

Responsibilities :

• Underwrite complex property insurance risks, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
• Analyze risk factors and set appropriate coverage and pricing.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, and clients.
• Mentor junior underwriters and support their development.
• Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with claims and risk management for comprehensive risk assessment.
• Develop and implement underwriting strategies to meet business goals.
• Present reports and analyses to senior management.
• Contribute to the company's growth.

Requirements :

• 10 years of underwriting experience in retail, wholesale, and/or insurance company space, with commercial property experience.
• Proven track record in property underwriting.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Leadership and mentorship experience.
• Knowledge of industry trends and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in underwriting software.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPCU) are a plus.
• Flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving.
