Senior System Administrator
- The Senior Systems Engineer provides skilled technical services in support of installation, configuration, testing, integration, and ongoing support for applications or infrastructure.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, workstations, and networking equipment.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing issues, and assessing the impact of problems.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to the Project Team and Manager for the planning and implementation of new or upgraded IT infrastructure (hardware or software).
- Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, ensuring that all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with minimal disruptions.
- Utilize leadership skills to exercise independent judgment and decision-making, especially in diagnostics and troubleshooting of individual applications or infrastructure.
- Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, including configuration, development, integration, testing, and resolution of issues for systems; assess, troubleshoot, and follow established guidelines for escalating hardware, software, and networking problems.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting in support of designated applications, including both custom-built solutions and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products.
- Convey detailed status updates to internal teams to ensure alignment and transparency on project progress.
- Communicate clearly and professionally to foster collaboration and ensure project success.
- Engage in problem resolution and strategic planning; implement, maintain, and monitor operating systems and related subsystems; participate in and lead small projects and activities.

- Firewall Implementation & troubleshooting
- Knowledge & experience with complex networking environments
- Deep understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, File Sharing, etc.
Recommended knowledge, skills, and competencies:
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
- Experience with all modern operating systems
- Experience with Kaseya BMS and VSA
Qualifications for Systems Engineer
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
- 3-5 years of IT administration experience
- System administration and IT certifications in Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, Hyper-V, or equivalent
- A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
