Job Description

Do you have a passion for fire safety and a knack for technical tasks?

We're looking for a qualified Fire Alarm & Special Hazards Systems Technician to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to take a leading role in ensuring the safety of buildings and their occupants by installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing critical fire alarm and special hazard systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform installations, maintenance, inspections, and repairs of fire alarm and special hazard systems.
  • Ensure all work adheres to industry standards and regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to accurately install systems.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain fire extinguishers.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in fire alarm, security, low voltage, and/or systems maintenance a plus. (We can train the right candidate!)
  • NICET I Certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm Test & Inspect, or Special Hazards (or equivalent certification like ESA CAT L1) preferred. (We can train the right candidate!)
  • Strong reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions effectively.
  • Ability to work safely in various environments, including construction sites.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems effectively.
  • Ability to make recommendations for system improvements.

The Work Environment:

  • This position requires working in various locations, including warehouses, offices, and construction sites.
  • The work environment may involve exposure to temperature extremes, noise, moving machinery, dust, chemicals, and potential electrical hazards.
  • The ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and working in different positions is essential.
