Reports To:  Engineering Manager

Department:  Product & Engineering - Engineering

Location:  Cincinnati, OH or Seattle, WA

Position Status:  Salary Exempt

Job Summary: 

As a Software Development Engineer 4, you will be senior developer on the Provider team actively participates in building and supporting backend services for provider onboarding and management. The senior developer drives architectural conversations and collaboration across team, ensuring adherence to high quality of deliverables supporting easy product operations.

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Designing, developing, implementing, and testing highly available, scalable systems in a cloud-native microservice architecture. 
  • Contributing new ideas for features and platform enhancements.  
  • Collaborate with product management, architecture, and your cross-functional peers.  
  • Creating a culture where teamwork is valued and risk-taking is rewarded.  
  • Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical direction

 

What You Need: 

  • 10+ years experience in backend software development
  • 8+years of designing, developing, implementing highly available scalable systems in a cloud-native microservice architecture. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and aggressive delivery timelines; Agile development experience (including tools like Visual studio, Git, SCRUM/Agile tools).
  • 7+ years of programming language experience (any object-oriented language Java, C# etc)
  • Experience with the C# language-ext library.
  • Experience with a functional language like F# is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Preferred AWS).
  • Experience implementing and consuming API protocols: GraphQL, gRPC, SOAP, and REST APIs.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (design, administration, tuning).
  • Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, SQL, MYSQL, MongoDB.
  • Experience with data pipelines, including Kafka messaging and event streaming
  • Familiarity with architecture patterns like Onion, Hexagonal, Clean Architecture
  • Experience using Git or other similar version control system.
  • Experience working on an Agile team delivering changes to production many times per day.
  • Creating and nurturing a culture where teamwork is valued, and risk-taking is rewarded
  • Mentoring junior engineers by providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, and offering career development support. 
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, ensuring that team members grow in both technical and professional capacities. 
  • Ability to manage the stress of a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet the in-person requirements of the team and/or business needs.
