Join our passionate team as a Technical Brewer, where creativity meets craftsmanship in the quest to brew outstanding beers. As a vital member of our team, you'll play a key role in overseeing and coordinating our brewing operations to meet and exceed internal and external manufacturing and quality specifications. Your mission will be to craft products of the highest quality, providing leadership and coordination to enhance our organization’s core operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our manufacturing plants, co-manufacturers, and suppliers align with our rigorous expectations and specifications, making it a cornerstone for our commitment to excellence.

 

Your expertise in the beer brewing process will be essential, from understanding the scientific principles behind brewing operations to performing intricate brewing calculations. You'll act as the lead liaison with our co-manufacturers, troubleshooting production issues, and fostering robust business relationships to guarantee quality and consistency. Your palate will guide our team, evaluating beer quality and driving recommendations to enhance our products.

This position requires a deep understanding of the TTB requirements for alcoholic beverages, a solid grasp of the brewing process from a quality assurance standpoint, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of beer quality.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Brewing/Fermentation, Engineering or Food Science, 6+ years of experience in high-speed, multi-sku beverage manufacturing and brewing facility leading and managing quality in manufacturing or Bachelor’s Degree with a brewing certificate and 8+ years of experience in high-speed, multi-sku beverage manufacturing and brewing facility leading and managing quality in manufacturing
  • Understanding of brewing raw materials, brew house operations, HTST, centrifuges, fermenting of ales and lagers, yeast metabolism/performance, filtration/finishing, overall sterile practices, brewery-wide sanitation, brewery layout and equipment design
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older due to alcohol tasting.
  • 2+ years’ supervisory or management experience
  • 2+ years Quality Assurance related experience including quality of liquid from end to end.
  • Must be On-Call to support production.
  • Onsite presence at multiple locations, requiring up to 40% travel
  • Ability to prioritize multiple complex projects and manage time effectively.
  • Required to lift and move equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Skilled in reading, analyzing and interpreting the most complex documents.
  • Skilled in responding effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Computer skill requirements include: intermediate MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
