As a Welder Fabricator, you will work on projects as big as furnaces or as small as piping, but your job is essentially the same, designing, cutting and shaping metal. A Welder Fabricator may be involved in the creation of new structures or repairing existing ones. Welder Fabricators are generally part of a team of other skilled workers; however, their duties are often performed with minimal supervision so Welder Fabricators must be comfortable working independently in a factory setting.
Responsibilities:
· Welding and Fabrication: Perform welding operations using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques to fabricate and assemble metal components. Ensure welds are strong, clean, and meet specifications.
· Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine the appropriate welding techniques and materials required.
· Material Preparation: Prepare and cut metal components to required dimensions using various tools and machinery. Ensure materials are accurately measured and aligned.
· Quality Control: Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Perform necessary adjustments or rework as needed.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper handling techniques for hazardous materials.
· Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding equipment and tools. Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team.
· Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including engineers and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of fabricated components into the final furnace assemblies.
