Ackley Brands is a family-owned company with a small portfolio of wineries and breweries. Their first acquisition was Montinore Estate in 2016. Ackley Brands is a dynamic and growing organization with additional wine brands in California and Washington. This internship is based at our Prosser and Sunnyside Washington facilities. The winemaking team there produces wines for Columbia Winery, Hogue Winery, Montinore Estate and Borealis Vintners .

Job Description:
The 2024 Harvest Team is looking to hire driven individuals that enjoy hard work, long hours, fine wine, and cheap beer. We are a tight-knit and dedicated team that sets forth daily to craft world class wines. We are looking for like-minded individuals to join us on our journey. Ideal candidates will have a thirst for enological knowledge and a desire to get their hands dirty in the process of learning. In exchange for their efforts, our interns are given the opportunity to help us craft wines on both small and large scales while learning from a highly skilled cellar staff that is guided by incredible winemakers. Harvest is tough, but we keep the mood light and upbeat. Positions will last about 6-8 weeks depending on the season, starting Early/Mid-September.

Job Duties:
Awareness of the big picture and understanding of winery flow.
Ability to lift 50 lbs & have the stamina to work physically with your hands for 6 days/week.
Ability to work from an elevated position on ladders, catwalks and rolling stairs.
Cap management including pump overs and punch downs.
Must thrive in a fast paced, quality-focused production environment.
Attention to detail and pride in one’s work especially during inoculations and additions.
Ability to follow written and verbal work orders from the winemaking team.
Must LOVE cleaning and have the ability to work while maintaining a clean workspace.
Self-motivation and drive; ability to work independently for long periods when necessary.
Help to maintain, and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety as it relates to winery work.
At least one full harvest experience at a winery is preferred but not required.

Other Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must be able to stand, bend, squat, and twist for long periods.
Must work well in a team environment, working towards a larger goal of making world class wines.
