Dubai residents will be allowed outside for one outdoor activity, provided it follows the guidelines
Dubai has forbidden gatherings of more than 10 people this Ramadan to combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to new protocols issued by the Government of Dubai and Dubai Economy.
The guidelines state that even in private gatherings, social distance needs to be implemented. Handshakes and hugs are not permitted.
Suhoor and Iftar gatherings are to be restricted to family or select friends, with food sharing between family members in different houses to help minimise the risk of transmissions. Any food received must be carefully transferred to containers at home.
Similarly, gathering for prayers is not permitted.
The guidelines also say that domestic helpers should not be instructed to not meet people outside the house, or accept food unless they know where it’s come from. Additionally, they should be equipped with protective gear when dealing with people outside the home.
Even during Ramadan, Dubai residents should only leave their home when necessary.
Masks should be worn whenever one leaves the house.
Residents, however, will be allowed to conduct one outdoor activity per day provided it follows the parameters.
